Big Brown stands proud as he won the Kentucky Derby, the first race of three when it comes to running for the crown. He is still undefeated within his racing career, now with a new record of 4 Starts and 4 Wins.

It has been 30 years sense there has been an official Triple Crown Winner within the racing world, and those die hard horse racing fans are eager to see if the golden glory will be placed upon a champion horse this year. It seems the field is ready for a champion to race fast for a place in equine history.

However, with glory comes grief …

Eight Bells is the Filly that lost her life in the 134 Kentucky Derby: Run for the Roses. This, I *believe*, is the third race horse that had to be put down in any of the Triple Crown Races in a row. Barbaro and George Washington were the other two that had to be put down from horrific injuries in the racing events.

My congratulations to Big Brown yet my sorrow goes out to the amazing Filly that lost her life.
